1. Increase in the number of simultaneous videos on Teams meetings

Previously the number of participants that could have video functions on simultaneously was 4 but this has now been increased to 9. This was done to create a more cohesive environment, with a greater number of participants speaking we are steps closer to completely replacing the need for face-to-face meetings.

This new experience optimizes for attendees who have enabled video and places the remaining audio-only participants below the meeting stage. To provide a high audio and video quality experience, the layout will adapt, based on the user bandwidth and alter the number of videos shown to provide the best meeting experience.

2. Raise Hands

As with classes, the act of raising one’s hand signifies an input into the discussion, this is the same with the new ‘Raise Hand’ function on Microsoft Teams.

It allows attendees to identify that they wish to speak, it gives a visual cue alerting everyone on who wants to speak – as well as in the participant list to show who signified first.

There is a whole list of cool new features like the Background Effects that allows you to change your background and keep the attention on you not what behind you.
